The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, entitled "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", was adopted at a high-level United Nations summit which took place from 25 to 27 September 2015. All 193 member states of the United Nations are committed to working towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals at national, regional and global level by 2030. The 2030 Agenda is a milestone in the long-standing international debate on sustainable development. Above all, we enhance the ecological dimension of the SDGs by advocating the cultivation of an edible crop whose non-edible components can be polymerized. Ultimately, this feedstock grows worldwide, hence, enabling decentralized polymerization for manufacturing biodegradable products.
